VICAIT Workshop Recap: From Academic Theory to Professional Reality & Learn to Leverage AI for Career Success

On November 14, 2025, VICAIT successfully hosted the workshop “From Academic Theory to Professional Reality & Learn to Leverage AI for Career Success” — an event designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional growth for Vietnamese IT students and young professionals in Canada.

With nearly 20 participants joining offline at our venue in Etobicoke and a similar number joining online, the workshop created a vibrant and engaging environment where ideas, experiences, and opportunities were exchanged openly.

VICAIT’s Mission & Vision

The workshop opened with Dr. Bach Hoang sharing the origin and mission of VICAIT:

• Connecting Vietnamese IT professionals in Canada

• Creating collaboration opportunities between IT and other business sectors

• Promoting science and technology cooperation between Canada and Vietnam

• Providing a platform where IT professionals can share knowledge, experience, and grow together through workshops, events, and community activities

Dr. Hoang also shared his own career journey, encouraging students to step into the professional world early and highlighting how networking and building meaningful connections can significantly accelerate one’s career. He also warmly welcomed students to join Robomain Inc. and his other ventures for hands-on experience.

Career Preparation, Networking & AI — Key Insights From Our Speakers

🧑‍💻 Mr. Minh Dinh

Mr. Minh focused on technical techniques for preparing an effective CV for job applications in Canada.
He also shared how he uses AI tools to boost productivity and manage his work efficiently.

🤝 Mr. Son Dinh

Mr. Son brought the conversation back to the critical topic of networking. He advised students to start building their connections right from university, as this will become a major advantage in their careers.

Regarding AI, he shared a unique perspective: while he uses AI extensively for work, he prefers writing emails and preparing CVs manually to fully express his own thoughts and personality.
He also mentioned how openly sharing salary information with classmates creates healthy pressure and pushes him to continuously improve himself.

📦 Mr. Hieu Huynh

With deep expertise in supply chain management, Mr. Hieu talked about how his company uses AI to greatly improve operational efficiency.
He also shared that his organization has a large IT team and that he is willing to support the community by sharing job opportunities through VICAIT.

📦 Mr. Hiep Tang

Mr. Hiep Tang shared the key to his career success as a senior developer in a very simple way: he focuses on doing what he believes will bring value to others and to society, even when there is no immediate financial return. This mindset, he said, has been a major factor in his professional growth and achievements.

Business Cooperation & Community Support

Our special guests Mr. An Phan and Ms. Linh Vu expressed strong willingness to collaborate with VICAIT — both in:

• Creating job opportunities for Vietnamese IT professionals

• Developing software solutions to support business operations

Their support opens new avenues for VICAIT to connect IT talent with real industry needs.

The workshop also received heartfelt feedback from many attendees, including Julie, Son Vu, and Dung Truong. They shared that VICAIT is truly bringing meaningful value to the community, and they expressed their commitment to contributing to the growth of the Association.
